February 7, 2003 You stole my heart the moment I saw your sweet face. To have you for such a short time is so very unfair yet I am so very thankful that you found me. I know you are with Sammie and Nickie now.
Till we are
all together again. -Love Mommie
February 2003 Hello, I got a dog from you about a year after you opened your doors. I wish I could remember the name of the person I dealt with at the time. Seems to me that it was a couple, and they were running hart basically out of their home and I remember them as having around 13 dogs. The original owners named him Jack be Nimble. When we went to see him we could hear him bark before we ever came to the house. You see, my children and I were all alone. We had a house that backed to the woods and though we felt we lived in a good neighborhood, we were the victims of a peeping Tom. Unfortunately the peeping tom got into my house and one other house. He didn't get away with what I believe "he wanted" that night when he came into my house and grabbed me out of my bed. So then he was angry and returned to terrorize us. We needed a dog that was good with children but also had an impressive look and bark. That was when I found Hart. Jack was german shephard and lab and was fawn colored....sort of "deer looking!" The next time this peeping tom came to terrorize us, Jack was his "welcoming committee". Jack instinctively knew that it was his job to watch over us and keep the "bad guys" out. I'm writing you this note because Jack, after approx. 1 dozen years of service passed away in my home in front of my eyes. It was one of the saddest days of my life. But, Jack, being the dog he was....knew somehow that I couldn't bear to put him to sleep so he waited until Saturday when he knew I'd be home and left in a matter of moments. Thank you for your work and for being the catalyst that brought Jack into my life. - Mary Collins |
