Poor Bailey had a rough start in life. She was born at a puppy mill, sold to a pet store and then ultimately sold to a family who should have rather bought a stuffed toy. Her "family" was able to afford to spend over $1000 on her purchase but when she was injured by a young child they would not afford her care. She came to HART with a broken leg that required surgery and at only 3lbs 10oz it was quite a delicate surgery. Bailey is recovering well and has had over 3 weeks worth of cold laser therapy to aid in the healing of her leg. While her bandages are almost ready to come off, she will still need to be kept quiet and still for another few weeks. Bailey is very affectionate with her people. She loves to be held and carried and is eager to meet new people. Bailey was not socialized with other dogs early on so she can be intimidated when meeting new dogs and sometimes snappy. While Bailey would most likely eventually be fine in a family with other small dogs, she would probably prefer to be the one and only dog. Bailey is a very fragile girl and will do best in an adult only home or a home without young children.
